Elf hero and pacifist, was to have borne Mergil after Londannath, would not wait & disappeared, later reappeared as a Death Knight, slain by 'slayers
A lifelong resident of Londannath, Asildur had the welfare of that city as his prime concern. Although regarded a great hero for his deeds in the purging of evil from Alair in the early days, he had sworn to do no war unless Londannath itself was assailed. He bore no named weapon and rarely wore his armour, using it for ceremonial activities only. He devoted his energies to public life in the city (he was one of the city’s Justices) and, as with most other Londannans, studied the arts.
Asildur made a foolhardy solo attempt to enter Vorsand and kill Varkar between the fall of Londannath and the Battle of Lantalaure, without waiting for the completion of Mergil, which he should have borne. It was assumed he failed and died, as he never returned, but no account or evidence of his fate existed.
He was encountered nearly a thousand years later, corrupted into a Death Knight by the powers he tried to enlist against the Dragon, and finally given peace by the Wymslayers themselves.
