Changes for HexMap version 6.3x
New Features
- Editing features. If you click on an occupied Hex on the map, a box
pops up with the world data all expanded and readable. It already did that. However, if
you click on one of the fields: Name, Starport, Size, Atmosphere, Hydrographics,
Population, Government, Law, Tech Level, Base, Zone, PAG, Notes, Stars or
Alliegance, HexMap will pop up a box allowing you to edit the field, and will provide
a lookup of known values if you want to choose one of those.
- Change Loss Confirm. If you have made changes as above, and click
GENERATE, LOAD or EXIT without saving, HexMap will now warn you that you're about to lose
what you've done.
- HTM output with ARP format. If the subsector is saved in ARP format,
the option is given to create an HTM version of the same information; this appears in the
same folder with the suffix .HTM (surprisingly!)
Fixes
- Overwrite protection. If you try and save a subsector in SBS or ARP
format, and it already exists, HexMap will warn you just like a real Windows program!
- SBS Hex Numbers were being translated back into the standard values for
Subsector A instead of being saved as the correct ones for E or G or whatever had been
generated; so when you tried to reload the file a load of failures cropped up. This is
fixed.
- Where's the damn map? When saving the map image to BMP, HexMap now
takes pity on you and confesses where it's put the file.
Windows XP Note
- Printing. For some reason, the program refuses to bring up the Printer
Properties so you can set Landscape. Dunno why. Sorry. I'll try and find this for next
release!
